I made my first trip to Gainesville and the University of Florida last week when I visited the turfgrass field laboratory at Citra, then gave a seminar (recorded screencast here) on campus about my research.

I have recorded both my presentations from the ATPI (Association of Turfgrass Professionals Ireland) conference in Galway. One is systematic improvement of course conditions. In that, I explained how we can only get the kind of playing surfaces we want when both the soil and the grass are in the right condition.

Filming is complete for episode 3 of ATC’s Grammar of Greenkeeping show and the trailer came out today. This film had been scheduled to debut at an AGIF webinar this month.

The day has finally arrived! I had a great time making this movie. I’ve been fortunate to have many friends around the world who have taught me a lot, and I spoke with some of them in this video.

Some of you saw this film at its first screening during BIGGA’s National Regional Conference. On 8 December, the “Still Learning” film is coming to screens worldwide. And now, here is the official trailer.

Playability is what it is all about, isn’t it? At least for putting greens, one wants to have surfaces upon which the ball rolls at a certain pace, and which have a firmness that is appropriate for the conditions.

I just saw the program (and the pricing) for BIGGA’s National Regional Conference and am impressed. This 10 November virtual conference has course renovation, tournament preparation, simple steps to encourage wildlife on the golf course, the busiest season, and then me.
