I’ll be making my second trip to Harrogate next month, and this time I get to lead some discussions about turfgrass management. The seminar schedule and booking form is here. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, and I’m really excited about this opportunity to share, in person, many of the ideas I’ve been working on recently.

I’m excited to be participating in the upcoming Northwest GCSA Turfgrass Expo 2017 on October 16 and 17. This is going to be a pretty big deal, and you can read about all the details on the website.

I’ll be speaking at the Thailand Golf Travel Mart in Khao Yai next week as part of the Thailand Golf Paradise seminar about course design, renovation, maintenance, and operations. These are the slides for my presentation about the best playing conditions with the fewest inputs.

I taught two seminars at the 2017 Philippine Golf Course Management conference. One was about MLSN after 5 years. I explained what soil test interpretation is, why the MLSN guidelines were developed, and explained how they work.

The recording of my webinar on preventing nutrient deficiencies is available in Spanish and in English. This was fun. I hope you’ll read the handout too. It is only 4 pages, with lots of white space, and gives a brief overview of this important topic.

I taught five seminars at the Northern Green Expo in 2016. The (New) Fundamentals of Turfgrass Nutrition Nutrient Use by the Grass and Nutrient Supply by the Soil Calculating the Fertilizer Requirement for any Turfgrass, Anywhere

This was the most disappointing thing I read in 2015. Why it was disappointing, and avoidable, I explain below. But first, from Mark Hunt’s Weatherblog on March 2, 2015, reporting on his seminar experience at the Golf Industry Show earlier that year:

I spoke at an event in Korea organized by Golf Seminar magazine for golf course superintendents, CEOs, and general managers. I spoke about 10 numbers for putting green maintenance.1 At almost every golf course, the mowing height is known.
